Please note that while we do not carry samples of everything in our showroom, we can order samples direct from the manufacturer and have them sent to either our showroom or directly to your home to meet whatever your floor covering need may be. Jack Hall

Jack Hall, the owner of Jack’s Tile & Carpet, began the business when he was just 25 years old. However, at that age, he wasn’t new to the tile industry. His first taste of tile work was actually at 12 years old when he would clean a tile warehouse and sort tile trucks scheduled for next-day installation. On weekends and holidays, he was given the chance to go along with the trucks. It was during this time that Jack was able to work on honing his communication skills by interacting with the crew and customers and advancing his skills in laying tile, carpet, and hardwood. Running the installation teams gave him a way to earn some extra money to help his parents and siblings in times of need, and it also afforded him the opportunity to be mentored and to learn the ins and outs of the trade. With his background in learning the trade, he’s been able to return the favor and mentor his own employees as well as prioritize their education and growth in the trade. He enjoys seeing his employees advance in installation knowledge and sales. Jack does not hire subcontractors. Instead, he makes sure all of his installers are trained and certified in their different areas of expertise. With this in mind, the quality and workmanship detail stays at the level Jack has taught and expects in order to provide customers with a fantastic experience all around.

Having lived on the peninsula for the majority of his life, he has been able to keep and strengthen personal and professional relationships which have contributed to the continued success and prosperity of the company. Jack very much enjoys seeing happy and satisfied customers at the completion of an installation. All of the employees describe the work environment as family-oriented, and he is proud to be able to contribute to that as well as be lucky enough to work with his wife, son, and daughter.

His dream was to be able to open his own business, and he is proud to have done that and more. When he’s not working, Jack can be found golfing, fishing, traveling, and as always, spending time with his family.

Jennifer Hall

Jennifer is blissfully married to Jack, the owner of Jack’s Tile & Carpet, and has loved having the opportunity to work with the family every day since 2022 as a Salesperson and Administrative Assistant. With an AA in Business Management, her skills and talents lay hand in hand to support the daily workings of the business. From the front desk to the installers, everyone is willing to do their part to make their work a success. Jennifer recognizes the teamwork and collaboration among the staff, and she finds happiness in seeing projects to completion. One of the best parts of her job is seeing the excitement of the customers when it all comes together. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and going to church as well as keeping up with her bible studies.

Robert Hall

Robert is the son of Jack, the founder of Jack’s Tile & Carpet. Robert proudly holds the role of Vice President as well as Sales Manager for the company. He didn’t make it to this position by luck. He worked hard and seized the opportunities he had. His father lives by a strong work ethic, and Robert grew to follow his lead. He worked as an installation crew member throughout the summers of middle and high school and also later while attending Christopher Newport University. After graduating with a degree in economics, Robert continued working throughout the housing crisis and economic downturn of 2008 and 2009. Over time, business started picking up, and in late 2009 he transitioned to full-time as a Sales Manager. He understands that flooring is something people only purchase a few times in their life, and his goal has always been to provide his customers throughout the process with as little disruption to the homeowner as possible. With his prior experience as an installer, he’s been able to continue the same expectations of high-quality installation and customer service Jack’s Tile & Carpet has been able to provide all these years. He and his employees pride themselves on their level of professionalism both in work as well as customer care. Robert and Jack aren’t the only family members a part of the business though. Robert’s sister, Catharine also works in-house, and Jack’s wife Jennifer does, too! Many employees have worked at Jack’s Tile & Carpet for more than a decade and some for over two. Talk about a work family! Robert enjoys coming to the office every day and working with the longstanding and wonderful employees who make up Jack’s Carpet & Tile, knowing they all have the best interest of the company in mind.

Catharine Hall

Catharine has always had a passion for helping people. That passion transformed into a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Education Leadership and Supervision and a teaching career of 10 years. Those 10 valuable years come in handy now in her new role even more so than one would think! Catharine can be found on the sales floor of Jack’s Tile & Carpet. She hasn’t lost her helping spirit and is now able to help in a different capacity. Now, she focuses her time and energy to ensure customer satisfaction. Catharine assists in everything from helping customers who have water and fire damage to get their homes back in order and designing one-of-a-kind bathrooms to helping guide customers in their choice of product that’s right for them. Catharine loves to see customers’ excitement when they find the right products for them.

If she seems familiar, it’s because this isn’t her first time working for the company! She’s the daughter of Jack and the sister of Robert. She, too, spent many a summer onsite helping her dad with measurements and around the shop. Now, Catharine is proud to be working at Jack’s Tile & Carpet with her family once again.

When you visit Jack’s Tile & Carpet, you’ll surely recognize Kevan. He’s been a Sales Consultant with the company since 2015. Kevan is originally from up north, Maine specifically, and is naturally a Boston Bruins and Red Sox fan. His journey took him through the U.S. Army doing helicopter aviation, and he then spent some years in construction. With his goal in mind of finding work related to construction but still having opportunities for interactions with customers, Kevan found his fit at Jack’s Tile & Carpet. He continues to enjoy communicating with customers and assisting them in making their dream homes a reality. He understands that working in a collegial and knowledgeable environment leads to satisfied customers. He and his colleagues take time to listen to customers’ visions and match them with the material and product they desire. With a number of educational training programs and certifications, Kevan is a great “go-to” for all tile, carpet, and flooring needs.

Krystal is our trusted Office Manager who comes with over 15 years of experience in the industry. She is a multi-tasker and takes care of everything from payroll and accounts payable to human resources, and Krystal still makes time to help customers in the showroom! You know you’re in a good place when you enjoy coming to work every day, and that is how Krystal feels. She describes the education and opportunities at Jack’s Tile & Carpet as invaluable and supports the company’s beliefs in lifelong learning and improvement in the forms of continued training and product education for everyone from sales to installation. Krystal has worked for the company since 2007 and continues to be appreciative of the family-like atmosphere.

Rosanne Tyndall

Rosanne was a welcome part-time addition to Jack’s Carpet & Tile in 2013 and joined the company full-time in 2016 as a Sales and Administration Associate. She describes her work atmosphere as even though most employees aren’t actually family, they are still treated like family. As a grandmother, Rosanne has appreciated the company’s understanding nature. She also describes her coworkers as a team who are willing to work together on different tasks to make sure the job is done and done right. She’s got a creative side and enjoys sewing, crafting, and creating wreaths, as well as going on travel adventures. Similar to Catharine, Rosanne comes from a public education background and taught elementary education, special education, and P.E. for 25 years. Working at Jack’s Tile & Carpet, she’s found a new career path that still provides her the opportunity to interact with new people daily, provide quality services and assistance, and continue to learn every day.

Donny

Donny serves as a Lead Tile Installer and Team Leader here at Jack’s Tile & Carpet. As a veteran of the U.S. Military, Donny sees the value in camaraderie and teamwork and has had no trouble finding it here. He first worked for the company for three years and then moved out of state. Once he moved back to Virginia, he came back on board and has been a part of the team since 2009. His favorite thing about working in the industry is the troubleshooting and design details he handles on a daily basis. He knew he always wanted to work with his hands, and Donny’s a great fit in his role here at Jack’s Tile & Carpet.

David is originally from Maryland & the Eastern Shore but has found his life and career on the peninsula since joining the team in 1997. He is highly experienced and has worked as a Carpet Installer for over 25 years. After all that time and experience, he still explains that he loves the fact that he learns something new every day in his line of work at the family-oriented company. He was originally interested in working here because one of his family members was an employee, and he ended up staying and making a career for himself. While he’s not rocking at his job, David likes to travel, watch football and basketball, and of course spend time with his family. When he arrives to install your flooring, you’ll know you’re in great hands!

Lucas has always been interested in learning new things specifically in the trades industry. He’s a Flooring Installer with the company, and his education and experience include over six years in the industry, three years of carpentry school at New Horizons, OSHA10 certification, and recognition from NASA. One thing that he feels sets Jack’s Tile & Carpet apart from the rest is that as an employee, he is treated like family. His needs are promptly addressed, and any concerns are always heard. Lucas very much enjoys improving and updating the homes of customers. With over six years with the company already in the books, he looks forward to taking on new challenges and gaining further education along the way.
